The Coronavirus: Wake Up Church

Many of us have heard or read II Chronicles 7:14 during this time we are living in today. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” We have also heard and read Psalms 91:1-10 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

They are both true concerning what is sweeping through the United States and the entire world today. How did we get here, how did this happen? These are some of the questions people are asking today. Many people are living in fear, afraid that they or their loved ones could be next. As of the date of this article January 7. 2022, 395 million people have contracted the virus worldwide, and of that number 5.75 million have died.  Of that number 76.4 million people in the United States have contracted the virus and 901,000 have died.

These are scary times we are living in today but it doesn’t have to be because if you are a Christian and have been faithful to God then he said in his word that he would protect us from the noisome pestilence and from the terror at night. No plague would come near our dwelling. We can pray this over ourselves and our loved ones.

The coronavirus is not the first virus that has stricken people around the world. There have been virus outbreaks that have killed more people worldwide. But what makes this different is that it is happening in our lifetime and also this virus has literally brought the world to a standstill. Something that is so tiny, so small we can’t see it with the naked eye has wrecked so much havoc and fear around the world. It has brought nations to their knees and has humbled the proud and brought low the mighty. Millions of people are now unemployed, millions have died, and countries and cities and towns have put measures in place where their citizens cannot go anywhere except necessary places.

What is happening should make us wake up out of our sleep because the bride has been asleep. She has been slumbering, unaware of what is happening around her. The sad thing is many who are asleep are in this state because of choice. Jesus said he doesn’t want us to be caught naked. I believe this virus is a wake-up call. Did God send it, I can’t say that he did, but I can say he allowed it. Today many people are looking for answers. Just as many people were looking for answers on 911 when the planes struck the Twin Towers in New York. Afterward, many people were in church on Sunday looking for answers, bud did they find any? The same is true today, many people are looking for answers but does the church have any? If we don’t know what the will of God is then we will not have answers for the people. It is not God’s will that any should perish so we as the body of Christ should be on the front lines speaking the truth, we should be telling people that the second coming of Jesus is near.

God has given us power, but how many Christians exercise that power? Too many Christians live weak and unfilled lives. They have no strength and when the storms of life come they fall. I believe God is saying repent, repent from your too busy lives Repent for not taking time with me, repent for not standing on the truth of my word, repent for allowing Satan to have his way in the nation. REPENT!!!

Repent is the message God gave me to declare for 2019, but unfortunately, many people did not listen. God has been crying out through his prophets for many years telling his people to REPENT.

God loves his people but he is not pleased with them. This virus is a wake-up call, awake from your sleep, awake from your slumber, and cast off that which is holding you down. Cast off sin and the weight that so easily besets or snares you. In 2004 God gave Oral Roberts a vision in which he saw something hovering over New York, he said it stayed then it lifted from the United States and went around the world. He did not know what the vision meant but today we are living it.

My hope and prayer is that when this virus has been neutralized that people will not go back to business as usual. That during this time and afterward, they will spend time seeking God through his word, and in prayer and fasting. The bride is sick and she needs to be made whole. Now is the time.

Father God in the name of Jesus help us to give heed to your word during this time of crises and beyond. Something so tiny has brought nations to their knees, has humbled the proud, and brought low the mighty. God help us.

II Thessalonians 2:3 says that the day of Christ is at hand and that it will not come unless there is a falling away first. I believe we are in that time now. COVID has caused a great falling away. When churches shut their doors many people fell away, even though churches began having online services it gave people the opportunity to stay home. Scripture says not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. God knows this fellowship gives us strength and Satan caused many people to stay home out of fear.

I am not saying not to be cautious, but we are not to live in fear. Where are the true believers, many are behaving like the world. We have stopped gathering together because the government says we must.

God has given us power so that the world will know but how will they know who Jesus is if the church is behaving like the world and walking in fear? Before this coronavirus 19, many of us were not out on the battlefield working to make disciples of others, we were not working to reach the people. Now, because of the virus, we are in our homes.

I am not telling anyone to start their ministries again or to stop wearing masks or anything like that. But what I am saying is what’s next? We allow a virus, something that God has all power over to shut us down with the help of the government. What will be the next thing that will shut the doors of the churches?

Everyone talks about the mark of the beast but what will happen if tomorrow the government says they are doing away with cash and requiring everyone to go cashless? How many people would bow?  Many will say they will stand against it but how will they when they lack faith to stand against this virus?
